Liberian defender Prince Balde has taken the next step in his professional journey, signing a two-year deal with Swedish club Trelleborgs FF ahead of the coming season. The 27-year-old centre-back joins from FC Rosengård, where he featured 47 times in Ettan over the last two campaigns. On the international stage, Balde has already represented Liberia 21 times, most recently playing the full 90 minutes on 15 November when the Lone Star faced Guinea.

“Signing for Trelleborgs FF feels like the right step for me and I think the club’s ambitions suit me well. I’m really looking forward to training with the team and giving everything for the badge on my chest,” Balde said after the move was confirmed.

Born and raised in Monrovia, Balde started his career with Monrovia Club Breweries before beginning a true globetrotting journey. Over the years, he has played in Laos (Champasak Avenir), Kosovo (FC Feronikeli 74, KF Drenica, FC Drita), Iraq (Al-Diwaniya SC), and most recently in Sweden with FC Rosengård.

During his time in Kosovo, Balde made over 80 appearances in the top flight and also gained valuable European experience. In the 2022/23 season, he featured for FC Drita in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers, helping the team eliminate Finnish side FC Inter before bowing out against Belgian club Royal Antwerp.

“I’ve gained a lot of experience in different leagues and I’ve had the honor of representing my national team several times. All of that has helped me grow as a player and as a person, and I’m ready to bring that experience into Trelleborgs FF,” he added.
